What you add is what you publish

Alexevent hosts the files; it does not review them before they go online. Every photo, video and message stays the work and the responsibility of whoever added it. If anything is contested, that is the person we turn to.

Only send what you have the right to share

Add what you took yourself, or what you hold the rights to. A professional photographer’s picture, a film clip, a song laid over a montage: all of it belongs to someone, and a private album is not a licence. When in doubt, ask first, or pick something else.

Ask recognisable people first

Everyone decides which pictures of them go around. Before adding a photo where someone is recognisable, make sure they agree to being photographed and to being seen in the album: those are two different things. For a child, the parents give that agreement. And if someone asks you to take a picture down, take it down, no argument.

What does not belong here

Nothing sexual, nothing violent, nothing that insults, humiliates or threatens anyone, nothing that goes after a person for who they are. No picture taken without someone’s knowledge in an awkward moment, no address or identity document readable on screen. The simplest test: if you would hesitate to show it to the person concerned, do not add it.

Taking things back down

You can delete your own contributions whenever you want, from the album. The organiser looks after the whole thing: they can remove content that does not belong, and they do not have to explain themselves to everyone.

Reporting content

Tell the organiser of the party first: it is the quickest way, and they can remove the content themselves. If that is not possible, or if what you are seeing is serious, write to us using the contact form, naming the event and the content in question. Anything manifestly unlawful is taken down without delay. And you can ask, at any time, for a picture of you to be removed.
